A stranger used the Rogers Communications iPhone app 'Rogers my account' to access their Rogers account information but, instead, my account was displayed. She called me and explained what had happened and that she could see my account information, my billing, which credit card I had used and the services I subscribed to. She sent a screen shot of her phone with my account information as confirmation. She had contacted Rogers and was told that there was nothing they could do! I called Rogers and it took several attempts before the representative understood the issue and I was then told that they would pass it on to their tech support to look into it. There was no indication that the customer support representative understood the seriousness of the privacy violation. I had to persistently ask to speak to someone who could take further action. Eventually I was connected with a manager but ended up with the same response. No apology and no recognition of the magnitude of the incident. This occurred on Monday of this week. It is now Friday and have had no response from Rogers. Also, the application is still available on the App Store. I can provide the email containing the screen shot if necessary, but of course, it contains my personal information so will not upload it at this time.
