Shop supplies and enviromental fees as just a cash grab
I recently took my van in for its 96K tuneup and the bill was about $500. That wasn't the problem. The problem was the $30 shop costs. Apparently this is for rags and drycleaning the technicians' uniforms. Every shop seems to charge it as if it's the right thing to do. It isn't! And it isn't just this one dealer
The labour charge is $115/hour. Shouldn't some of that go to overhead.
When I was in business such things were part of overhead.
