We live on the Westside of New Glasgow, NS. We have a regular Canada Post Office on the Westside. There is also a Post Office outlet in the Lawtown's Drug Store on the Eastside of New Glasgow. If we receive a notice of a parcel delivery we have to drive all across town to pick it up. We cannot retrive the parcel at our Post Office on the Westside which is much closer. I was told at the Lawton's outlet that all parcel deliveries are taken to the Lawton's outlet.
About a year ago the Westside Sobey's store had a postal outlet. At that time parcels for the Westside area were delivered to Sobey's which is only a half mile from our home making it very convenient. So why was the delivery of parcels to the Westside of New Glasgow changed to the Lawton's Drug store when the Sobey's outlet closed? Some people on the Westside now have to drive right past the Westside main Post Office and go all across town to the Eastside of town to pick up their parcels. It does not make sense to me. No wonder Canada Post is losing business.
