My son who is in the Navy stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi wanted to buy his first car when he came home to WV on his Xmas leave. We contacted a local Chysler/Jeep dealer in our area and he was able to find a 2011 Jeep Patriot that seemed to fit the bill. The dealer went over the car’s features but failed to inform my son that the car DID NOT have air conditioning. The air conditioning panel/controls are in the dash and it does blow cool air, however, when my son returned to his base he realized that it wasn’t working correctly. A dealer in Mississippi informed him of the problem. Mopar does not sell a commercial air conditioning kit for the Patriot, so a unit is going to have to be modified to the tune of $2100. We realize that our son should have looked more closely at the “Features” list but we feel that the dealer was also negligent and should bear half of the cost.
