Disappointed customer... again

@WestJet Headquarters Back in July I booked a vacation package with westjet. I put a $500 deposit down on the trip. Fast forward a month and my mother is diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and has to have an emergency surgery, without hesitation I had to cancel a trip to Toronto (with westjet) and flew to Vancouver to be with her. I missed a month of work, and am still playing catch up financially. I had contacted the travel agency to let them know my upcoming payment may have to be reduced to multiple payments as financially I am struggling. I realize they are a business and policies are in place and cant always accommodate. But, clearly at the time of booking I did not know that my mother would be undergoing a major surgery and I would be missing heaps of work. Regardless, we were unable to come to a payment agreement and I was entitled to no refund. Not only the deposit, but $400 on change of flight fees and that was gone to? $900 gone in a matter of minutes, not an ounce of compassion.
