A Shower of Orange Juice... and much more | Gripevine
I'm 12, and I flew on American Airlines from Chicago to Los Angeles to get home. Next time, I'll probably walk.
Our flight was cancelled, (I'll explain the orange juice later), so we got put on a flight that would take us to Dallas and then we'd get on another flight to L.A. Luckily, we were staying with our friend a travel agent, so she somehow convinced them to get us a non-stop flight in the morning. But my mom missed an important morning meeting in Chicago! All because we were informed of a rescheduling at the last minute!
I think that American Airlines should give you part of your money back when they have to reschedule like that. (The percentage of money could change depending on the situation.)
And because they had to reschedule our flight like that, you'd assume that they might actually treat us with a little extra concern. But no... they seated us right next to the bathrooms. It smelled wonderful! We had to convince a flight attendant to give us better seats. At first, she didn't want to do it, but we told her it was the smell bugging us.
And now for the entertainment part!!!!! The stewardess spilled orange juice all over me and the book I was reading! She pulled out a napkin to wipe me and the book up. Then she turned to the cover of the book I was reading to wipe that up too. But SHE DIDN'T SAVE MY PLACE! They should also teach their staff to be a bit more careful. And I'm wondering, if the book had been damaged to the unreadable point, would they have paid for us to buy another copy? Guess I'll never find out, thank goodness! Or will I someday?
But yeah, when we pay for a certain flight that will leave at a certain time and land at a certain time, that's what you should get. Otherwise, they need to give us part of our money back!

In the meantime, we thank you for taking the time to use Gripevine's "complaint-resolution" platform.
Kind Regards,
Johanna
In American Airlines's defense, I wrote to them telling them the story of my gripe, and they apologized and gave me a $100 dollar e-voucher. They didn't change the policy like I said, but I did hear from them about the situation. For now, I'll mark this gripe resolved.
I think the reason they didn't ignore my complaint was because I told them I'm 12.

Congrats to our successful twelve-year old gripe-master!! Glad to hear American Airlines came through!!
Thanks... American Airlines wants people my age to be satisfied with them... then the kids fly on American a lot throughout their lives! I heard that American Airlines will probably be out of business by 2013, so I don't think I'll ever get to use the voucher they sent me. :( But either way, they apologized!
And I wouldn't call myself 100% successful. Sqwishland LLC never responded to my gripe about them.
And also, my gripe about Adobe was anything but successful.
