Pulled the rug out from under me ? | Gripevine
In March of 2012 I made 4 separate purchases online of rugs from eSaleRugs.com. The total that I spent was $594. They had advertised that we would receive a $100 restaurant.com card for any purchase from them. After receiveing the rugs I contacted them about the restaurant.com cards which did not come with the rugs and was told that because they had a 30 day return policy they normally wait 30 days before sending the cards out. So I said okay, that makes sense. Lisa in Customer Service said they would send a card out anyway since I had asked and I had told them that I wouldn't be returning any rugs because I was very happy with my purchases. So I waited 30 days thinking that my additional restaurant.com cards would come since I had made 4 different purchases, some to my daughter in another state. They had sent me only one card and I figured they owed me an additional 3 cards. When they didn't send the additional cards I contacted them and they have not returned any of my emails.

It sounds to me like you just assumed you were entitled to one card per rug, but in fact it sounds as if their promotion had different terms (one card per customer or one card per purchase--and you purchased four rugs, but that still means just one card).
Yeah, I thought of that so I went back and looked. Their promotion didn't say anything about one to a customer and every separate receipt that they sent me said that included with the order was a $100 restaurant.com card. They might have realized after the promotion that maybe they should have stated that it was "one to a customer". If that's the case they could at least let me know instead of ignoring my complaint. Plus, if that was the case, don't you think that they would just say so ?
Actually, it sounds like they're giving away only one card per customer, which makes sense. http://esalerugs.com/blog/?p=856
"Right now eSaleRugs is giving away a $100 Restaurant.com Gift Card on all sales. That’s an amazing deal on top of our current sale. Take advantage of this opportunity to receive a card you can use for money off your next meal. Restaurant.com allows you to use the Gift Card at participating restaurants near you. Use the card at local eateries or while you’re away in another town on vacation. Either way, purchasing an Oriental, Persian, Modern or Traditional rug at a discount, will also get you a discount on a nice meal out."
Now how it's call "the gift card" or "a gift card," not "gift cardS." Everywhere else I saw this mentioned, the promotion info indicates that it's just one card, no matter how many rugs you buy.
