Dealing w/ Delta's Delivery | Gripevine
I expect many of you have had similar experience so thought I'd relate my here. I am not looking for resolutions; there are none. I do hope that airlines might change their customer service and respect. These are tough times and we all could stand to be more respectful and helpful.
I was on my way to my hometown for my father's burial service. I traveled on Delta on Thanksgiving Day last year so I wouldn't have to deal w/ the fact that he would not be at my dinner table for my usual T-day turkey. Upon arriving in my hotel later that evening after a long day of travel, I opened my luggage to find the note that they'd been through my luggage. I have no problem w/ examination of luggage for my and everyone's safety. However, they had not refastened the stretchy straps to hold everything in place, and supplement and vitamin pills I had all organized into one of those special containers were everywhere. I never did find many of them. Everything was a mess. It was not what I needed or expected to find. Delta's response was discounting inattentive. They told me how to make a claim, which wasn't even what I was trying to do. There was no claim to make. I wanted them to know how their staff was not providing good customer service. A little acknowledgment can go a long way. Seems simple but too hard for many.
